Vito e Carla sono separati da qualche anno. Si sono amati molto, prima che gelosia e violenza distruggessero il loro amore. Ora Vito ha una nuova vita e Carla ha un nuovo partner. Unico legame i tre figli Nicola, Rosa e la piccola Mara. Ma su Carla incombe ancora la sensazione di avere evitato una tragedia annunciata. Quando Mara chiede di avere il padre accanto a sé il giorno del suo compleanno, Carla, per farla felice, lo invita a cena. 
Ma dopo quella sera di Vito non si hanno più notizie. Sparisce nel nulla senza lasciare tracce. Sarà la polizia a far luce sulla sua scomparsa. Alla giustizia verrà affidato il compito di accertare la verità su quanto accaduto. Ma in questi casi esiste davvero una sola, chiara, inconfutabile verità?

Vito and Carla have been separated for a few years. They loved each other very much, before jealousy and violence destroyed their love. Now Vito has a new life and Carla has a new partner. Their only bond is their three children Nicola, Rosa and little Mara. But the feeling of having avoided an announced tragedy still hangs over Carla. When Mara asks to have her father by her side on her birthday, Carla, to make her happy, invites him to dinner. 
But after that evening there is no news of Vito. He disappears into thin air without a trace. It will be the police who will shed light on his disappearance. The courts will be entrusted with the task of ascertaining the truth about what happened. But is there really only one clear, irrefutable truth in such cases?

Leonardo D’Agostini (Roma, 1977) Ha lavorato come editor e sceneggiatore per serie televisive come Solo (2015) e Rosy Abate (2016), di cui ha curato anche la regia della seconda unità.
Nel 2019 ha esordito con Il campione, vincitore del Nastro d’argento per la migliore opera prima.
