N.I.C.E. Festival 2021Conditions for admission to the selection
All works submitted must have been produced between August 2020 and January 2021, and must not have already been presented in any other form, including as work-in-progress, in Russia (Moscow, St Petersburg), in the USA (New York, Washington, Philadelphia) and in Strasbourg.
Directors of first or second works (feature films and documentaries) are invited to provide information about their CV. Works already presented in competition or out of competition at other events in the countries indicated are excluded from selection. Possible exceptions to these conditions may be decided at the discretion of the Director.
1.1 Admitted formats
For films officially invited, the formats admitted for screening are as follows:
- Digital Cinema Package – DCP
- Immersive VR formats (Samsung Gear, HTC Vive, Oculus Go, Oculus Rift, SONY Playstation, tactile devices, AR, MR; any other formats must be discussed in advance with the Festival Direction).
1.2 Selection procedure
The Festival Director will be assisted by a team of experts from the Cinema Sector in the selection of the proposed works.
1.3 Registration fees
For each film entered in the selection process, an entry fee of €50 is required “TO SUPPORT THE N.I.C.E. FESTIVAL” and for secretarial fees. In no case will this fee be refunded.

1.4 Materials to be sent for selection
The submission of the film must remain absolutely confidential until the announcement of the program by the Festival.
1.5 Copies
Owners of invited films must send no later than 15 December of the current year (N.I.C.E. Festival Russia will be held in April and N.I.C.E. Festival USA in November) to:

- 2 copies in original version with English subtitles;
- 1 DVD or Blu-ray disc in original version with English subtitles for the exclusive use of the Festival’s internal services. Dialogues in Italian or English;
- Also send a Vimeo copy with English subtitles;
1.6 Archive material
The authors and producers of films presented at the Festival are invited to donate two copies of their work, which will be deposited at Biblioteca delle Oblate of the City of Florence and at the Fondazione Mediateca Toscana for the exclusive use of documentation, excluding any commercial use in order to protect the interests of the authors and producers.
1.7 General rules
Participation in N.I.C.E. Festival implies compliance with this Regulation.
It is the responsibility of producers, distributors or others presenting the film to guarantee that they are legitimately authorised to submit the film to N.I.C.E. Festival.
The Director of the N.I.C.E. Festival has the right to settle all cases not provided for in this Regulation, as well as to derogate from the Regulation in special and well-justified cases.
