N.I.C.E. USA 2024 – 34th EDITION. New York: November 8-9-12. Philadelphia: December 6-7-8. N.I.C.E. (New Italian Cinema Events) is a cultural organization founded by Viviana Del Bianco in Florence, with the aim of promoting contemporary independent Italian cinema worldwide through screenings and cultural events in Europe, Asia and the US.
“I like to think of this new edition of N.I.C.E. USA 2024 as yet another opportunity for the discovery of new perspectives, new talents, and new possibilities for promotion. As always, N.I.C.E. presents a program of directors who have marked the history of debut films, while keeping an eye on the future and a cinema committed to telling ongoing transformations through the lens of social and political analysis, research, and experimentation with languages,” says Viviana Del Bianco, artistic director of N.I.C.E.
N.I.C.E. will be hosted in New York at the historic Casa Italiana Zerilli-Marimò and the Italian Cultural Institute (IIC), just as it was for its first edition in the United States. N.I.C.E. is also twinned with Sudestival, directed by michele Suma, a reference point for quality Italian cinema in Puglia, which takes place in the beautiful setting of the city of Monopoli. The screenings will be supported by long-time partners such as Casa Italiana Zerilli-Marimò and the Italian Cultural Institute of New York, with the valuable support of the Italian Ministry of Culture and Luce Cinecittà.
